Eary Access to My New Tutorial!
|
Hello, lovely creators! As subscribers to my weekly email I am pleased to offer you early access to my Campus Companion Tutorial on YouTube. The free video is a supplement to the detailed 20+ page PDF sold in the Sewspire Etsy Shop. Using both the video and the PDF will allow you to assemble the project in approximately 3 hours.
Designed out of necessity this organizer is perfectly crafted to accommodate class or work essentials with ease: computer, tablet, notebook, phone, pens, chargers, and more!
Speaking of school, I am trying to do everything I can to ensure I head into this next semester of classes organized and feeling good: cleaning, practicing yoga, hydrating, getting lots of sleep, and sewing, of course.
As I prepare to take six courses this fall, I've dedicated the past two weeks to organizing my workspace for optimal efficiency and creativity. Transforming spaces is my passion. Recent studio updates include newly installed shelving, clearing counters, adding a 36" mat to my cutting table, and creating a cozy nook for the KAM press and all it's parts. These changes not only enhance functionality but also ignite inspiration as it makes me want to be in the space.
While I was tidying up I was considering what people really need to have in their sewing rooms and what is just nice to have. Assuming you do have a sewing machine, here's what I came up with:
Must-Haves:
1. Cutting mat, rotary cutter, and clear ruler
2. Color wheel chart
3. Fabric and notion storage
4. Ample cutting, pressing, layout, and sewing space
5. Inspirational decor and lots of color
Nice-to-Haves:
- Computer and printer
- KAM press with rivet and snap dies
- Embroidery and semi-industrial sewing machines
- Heat press
With nearly 20 years in this craft, my collection has grown, but I started simply with a basic machine and scissors. Regardless of what you own, it’s vital to have an organized space so you can find what you need when you need it.
This week I have also been reflecting on the body of work I have created under the Sewspire umbrella. I downloaded a treasure trove of unpublished masterclass content. The plan is to create evergreen courses featuring three fabulous bags that are perfect for travelers and make great holiday gifts.
